Forgiveness is something we all face at some point in our life, several times in fact. Whether it is you forgiving someone or you searching for forgiveness. Now the question I pose is how many of us have truly forgiven ? Many of us, actually I'd venture to say most of us have said or thought we had forgiven someone only to hold what they have done in the back of your mind waiting for that person to screw up again, and when they do you rain down upon them with the anger from past actions as well as the new thing they did to you. Well didn't you forgive them ? wasn't that in the past ?
When it comes to forgiveness you also have to think about forgetting. This came to my mind when a few of my friends and I were speaking about this and what came up was this statement; "I can forgive but I wont forget". Now to me this does not make sense, simply because if you have never forgotten then you always live with that persons past actions looming over your head and can never truly enjoy that person for who they are.
Now I look at it like this if you cannot forget a persons mistakes or actions that may have offended you then that person is not someone you should be around. Look at most siblings who fight it out to the death and litterally minutes later cannot stand to be with out the other, this is true forgiveness . given this no outlook i have chosen to surround myself with people who i trust and care for and i see as family. This way i mistake is a mistake and no matter how upset i may get i know that their intentions where never to purposely harm me, thus giving me the ability to truly forgive.
Now thing to yourself people have you ever truly forgiven someone ? or did you just make the statement and keep them around while sleeping with one eye open. fruit fruit for thought . im done . . . .

Luck
Before I begin, let us remember there are always exceptions to the rule. But in most situations this is the standard, when you are in control of your life and actions and you make stupid decisions, stupid things happen. Many people chalk up sudden fortunate events or unfortunate events to luck, good or bad. And with the exception of winning the lottery and a few other things I have a hard time giving in to that.
Usually when something happens you can follow a long trail of decisions and actions leading up to that event that caused it to happen. For instance, I grew up with many friends as we got older we all chose different paths i busted my ass in high school for the love of a sport that I knew could take me somewhere, it did. In college I busted my ass to be the best and made a name for myself and aquired knowledge and experience in my chosen academic field and in my sport. I then became known for my knowledge in those things after college i met a gentle man who happened to be successful in my chosen field and who as also interested in my athletic skill. I ended up with a job and an opportunity to offer my skill and knowledge to a kid who was seeking it.
Now many looking at the end result would say i got lucky and for a long time i thought the same until i gave it some thought and followed the trail. and it all started with a concious decision to do the right thing and make something of myself, and guess what it set of a chain of events that led up to the so called lucky position that I find myself in now.
Now on the other hand some of the individuals that i grew up with chose different paths. Many of them chose to do the wrong things, drugs, stealing senseless fighting and so on. They made no effort to better themselves, just went along with what was in front of them and thus setting off a chain of unfortunate events (bad luck). And now many of them are dead or in prison, bad luck ? and even if you are someone that makes good decisions does the right thing but still chooses to surround yourself by people who do the opposite you may become victim of other peoples choices. Again there are always exceptions to the rules, but usually things work this way.
What bothers me is how so many people instead of realizing and owning up to their actions always blame luck, which in their mind rids them of all responsibility. Now an athlete trains day in and day out to better their chances of winning they don't just sit around doing nothing and hope they get "lucky" , you are in a hospital awaiting surgery do you want a doctor that has done nothing to prepare to do this type of work and say "i hope i get lucky today and do this right" ? i think not. OWN UP TO YOUR ACTIONS , ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY !!! I'm done !
